Who We Are

Cottage Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church is a diverse congregation in a variety of ways.

Age:  We range in age from 90's to a few months old.

Racially:  We are a mixture of black and white.

Culturally:  We are a mixture of Caucasian Americans, African-Americans, and refugees from East Africa, mostly the Sudan.

Worship:  We have three worship services:  English, Mabaan, and Arabic as spoken in Southern Sudan.

Politically:  We range from conservative to liberal.  We are a More Light Church, which means we welcome all, without bias regarding affectional orientation.

Most importantly, we are a mission-oriented community that cares about one another!

Serendipity is a fellowship group of adults in the church.
It is open to all adults of the church and their adult guests.

The following pictures are from the Serendipity gathering at the McGowans' on December 15. We had a soup supper. Afterwards we drew numbers to determine the order of selecting the gifts that we had brought valued at approximately $10 each.

After that we will enjoy a meal of pizza.

The time has not yet been decided.
